Yeah, didn't realize it was that much. When the AAC and Big East signed their contracts back in 2013, the AAC's was for 7 years and Big East's for 12. Given those time frames we have 4 years until the TV contract negotiations will finalize.

I'm still fully expecting a revised contract before UConn's first game, however. Whether or not that comes with a significant extension is the question. Fox may not have a motivation to do that unless we agree to more years. I understand our current contract has a clause to add up to 2 teams at the same rate, but UConn is obviously a much more valuable team than the ones discussed back in 2013 (St. Louis and Dayton).

Wondering how the New Big Noon Kickoff Show is doing? FOX presented a special edition of BIG NOON KICKOFF live from Columbus, drawing a season-best 1,979,000 viewers during the 11:00 AM-12:00 PM ET hour. BIG NOON KICKOFF telecasts are averaging 1,080,000 viewers this season, up +34% over last season’s college football pregame show.

HALFTIME! What better time than upon signing a new member to exercise that renegotiation clause. Fox got us for bargain basement prices back in 2013...time to renegotiate for fair market value pricing now. Go BE.
I am also Expecting a revised contract before next season. Not only is UConn more valuable, but our entire slate is much more valuable than we are being paid in the current contract...roughly $150K/a game. I am expecting to double that per game figure.

It looks like we’re going to find out how much the AAC version of UConn was worth to ESPN. Any predictions on what the AAC’s revised deal is going to be without their top brand?

This will be interesting to see. I hope we get a bump from Fox. Another interesting tidbit on how much it will cost schools to broadcast ESPN+ and ESPN3 games.

East Carolina athletics director Jon Gilbert said each broadcast will cost the athletic department around $6,500-$7,500 to hire announcers and a production crew. Multiplied by 45, that’s more than $300,000 annually spent on broadcasting games...'

What a horrible deal.

great third quarter to get back within 13 by depaul. if they can do it again in the fourth they'll be cooking with gas

edit- within 6 at the under 4. not sure they'll get over the hump, but they've made it a game

not 100% directly impacting FS1, but SEC sounds like they're leaving CBS for Disney. 250-300M increase per year for SEC(so about 20M more per school).

Insane for the SEC...

What will be interesting for Fox is what this does with Big Ten, Big 12, and Pac 12.

Kind of an appropriate way to end the decade with this news...
