Turner might get
Yankees/Red Sox
Indians/Astros
while NL would have best case
Cubs/Brewers
Braves/Dodgers

Turner might get
A's/Red Sox
Indians/Astros (confirmed)
while Fox might get
Cubs/Brewers
Braves/Dodgers (confirmed)
.....(for the record, I think having the Yankees in the playoffs would be better for baseball and wouldn't lead to lower NL playoff ratings. If NYC/all the Yankees fans nationwide are interested in baseball that could only help. Fox isn't competing with Turner)

The one thing that will happen is Fox for Friday and Monday will have poor times. You know that a potential Yankees/Red Sox will get prime time status. The Dodgers game will be the 930/10pm start for sure since it's the only west game. Houston/Cleveland probably will get priority over Milwaukee/Cubs or Rockies- especially if it's Rockies who beat the Cubs. Could easily have a schedule on Friday of-
1pm Rockies/Brewers
4pm Indians/Astros
7pm Yankees/Red Sox
10pm Braves/Dodgers
then on Monday it's somewhat determined based on how the series have gone.
stever20 wrote:Astros small market team? Houston is only the #8 market in the country. And they're the defending champions. And Cleveland is 19.
For Oakland- the first game that could possibly air late would be game 3. Games 1 and 2 would be in Boston.
Braves/Dodgers won't get good ratings for 2 of the games because it'll be in LA so game start time at 9pm or later. And it could easily be a 3 game sweep.
Milwaukee is 35th best market.
also have to remember 1 game from each series airs on the MLB network. So it's possible- that Fox only gets 4 games in 1st round.
Fox absolutely needs the Cubs to beat Colorado tomorrow- to have really any chance at good ratings in 1st round. a Colorado/Brewers series with #17 market vs #35 market would not be good at all. The NL had great stuff today. ESPN was the big winner.
