A second tough day for the Big East. Thought we would at least split the two games against the F5 but Marquette fell to Wisconsin and TCU beat the Hoyas in the Big XII Battle. Big XII up by one with four to play. But in the meantime, another intra state rivalry game as Creighton take on Nebraska tomorrow.

A .500 night in the BEast as against the F5 leaving us at .500 for the season. Twelve games left - so we need at least a split to stay at .500. Marquette finishes up it's F5 battles with an excellent 4-2 mark. Of the twelve remaining games, 8 will be played by the 4 teams that have not won an F5 game yet this season. With seven games on Saturday, we could secure a winning record with a sweep. Who knows....

Sitting at .500 with just 12 games left, the Big East needed a good day. It got a really good day. 7 games against the F5 and 5 Ws. Villanova, Butler, Xavier, Marquette and…..wait for it…..The DePaul University Blue Demons all came up with victories today. The 2 losses on the day were the Hoyas and Pirates in rivalry games. So what does it all mean? It means tomorrow afternoon in Brooklyn the Johnnies can clinch a non-losing season for the Big East if the Red Storm can knock off Boston College. The BEast is just 2 wins away from a winning record against the F5. But just the one game on the docket tomorrow. Our series with the Big XII is over - we tied 8-8, and we finished our series with the Pac-12 seemingly forever - we won 4-2. Going to be stormy in NY tomorrow in more ways than one.

The BEast finishes the 2023 battle against the F5 four games over .500 and finish 27-23. Every Big East team had at least one win and Creighton went undefeated. Xavier, DePaul, Georgetown and Seton Hall all had losing records and went a combined 4-14. Marquette played the most F5 games - 7. I would bet at this point the Big East gets at least six bids. Now we move onto conference play - so the Big East love takes a pause until March. See you all at the Garden (and Carnesecca and UBS). The league is going to be a war every night for sure.
