Well kids, if you're going to give up an 18 point lead, at least hit your free throws. Johnnies drop an overtime heartbreaker to Baylor. Tomorrow they get another shot at the Football 4 when they play Virginia. The Jays also play their in-state rivalry game with Nebraska and the Hall takes on Vanderbilt. Hopefully a 3-0 day coming up.

Hmmm,

BU rebound with 2 secs (0:02) left in the game. Long pass gathered, then a 3-or attempt? Clock starts upon the ball being touched (rebound). Sounds like the Johnnie’s got jobbed by the refs.

Not likely that the last ditch 3-Pter by Baylor was released prior to the backboard light illuminated. Was there a delay in starting the clock upon rebounding, giving BU additional time? It’s barely possible the shot was released prior to a delayed buzzer though? Will be interesting to see the highlights and replays.

Was there a delay in starting the clock upon BU’s 0:02 rebound?
Did refs base decision on backboard light vs buzzer.

They (Johnnie’s) never helped their case. Leading by 5, over the last 2:21 minutes of the OT, they missed 2 shots (1-2pt / 1-3pt) and also missed 3 of 4 FT shots? Not good.

Baylor’s desperation 3 should not have counted - backboard light on before release?

PS: Jays play SDSU, then TAMU. All teams re-seeded for the 30th. Top seeds from each pod play for title.

Gtmo definitely ref and clock issues. But if you hit your free throws - not only at the end but throughout - you avoid having to worry about all that stuff. I had this as their only non-con loss. But when a win is that close you have to take it. They need to pummel Virginia today and Georgia Sunday.

Jays got drubbed by a lower level Big Ten team tonight. Ashworth is hurt and will be out for a while and we have no real PG backup. Season outlook has change dramatically.
