what are you talking about... that game sucked

(I'm a Nats fan).

HUGE break for FS1 I think. LA/Chicago about best case scenario for them.

Why haven't they increased the visibility of Katie Nolan? She seems to be able to do the commentary/comedy thing better than most. She even has a "Social TV Experience" Sports Emmy.

I think they should. They need to get rid of Jay and Dan pretty much asap.

I think it's also pretty telling that we're seeing long MLB postgame shows on FS1 instead of trying to build up FSL at all whatsoever. It's obvious that FSL is way down on their priorities. That show is pretty much dead man walking right now.

interesting what I saw someone say.... that for MLB(and Fox)- it's really an all or nothing situation. If it's Cubs whoever- it's going to be boffo ratings for the World Series. But if it's the Dodgers whoever- it's going to be a lot more subdued ratings for the World Series.

Probably very true. Would think an LA/Toronto WS would be extremely poor ratings. but a Cubs/Indians WS would be extremely highly rated.

saw Dodgers/Nats got a 3.8 rating last night. would look like around 5 million or so viewers.

If the final number is 5 million- FS1 would have gotten-
Fri-
SF/Chi 5.697
LA/Was 2.226
Sun-
LA/Was 1.242
Mon
Chi/SF 4.097
Tue
Was/LA 2.591
Chi SF 6.368
Thu
LA/Was 5 million(est)

so average for the 7 games on FS1 would be 3.89 million. Last years ALDS got 2.89 million viewers(for 8 games- as both went 5). Last years NLDS got about 5.41 million viewers on TBS. The 6 ALDS games on TBS this year got 2.86 million(with both being sweeps, so no game 4 or 5's)

And FS1 well positioned for the LCS round vs TBS. Only the debate night will mess it up at all.

pretty interesting move there. no nba games- but he's a great reporter.

The thing that stinks is Fox has built up a pretty good group of reporters now. a Fox Sports Live with Katie Nolan hosting a la Scott Van Pelt- would be a great view. But I don't think they're going that way.

Disagree completely. The internet and smart phones made those shows superfluous.

Sportscenter came into its own because there was nowhere else to get sport scores and highlights. I remember staying up to watch the late sportscenter as a kid to see if my baseball team won. I remember being hooked just to see highlights of homers and football games.

Now, everyone who wants to get a score just goes online or hits an app on their phone. Scores and stats are instantaneously available. There is no need to watch a highlight show or grab the morning paper to check a box score. There is no need for those shows anymore and that is why people are not watching them.
